Retino AC gel is a combination medication of Clindamycin and Tretinoin that is used to treat severe acne in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Retino AC gel reduces the amount and severity of acne pimples and helps pimples that do develop to cure more rapidly. It is also used to treat wrinkles, dry, rough patches and tiny bumps on the skin.

How does Retino AC gel act?

Tretinoin belongs to the class of medicine called retinoids. It inhibits keratinization and cornification of the outer skin layers and increases the shedding of old hardened skin cells while at the same moment enhancing the formation of new skin cells. Clindamycin belongs to the class of medicine called Lincomycin antibiotics. It blocks the growth of acne-causing bacteria and prevents the spread of infections.

What is the exact method to use Retino AC gel?

Retino AC gel is made up of Tretinoin 0.025% and Clindamycin 1%. Before using Retino AC gel, wash your and face with a mild cleanser, and dry the skin with gentle patting. Take a small amount of gel on your fingertips and apply a thin layer of over the affected part of the face. Retino AC gel should be used once a day in the evening at bedtime.

What are the contraindications of Retino AC gel?

A user should not use Retino AC gel under these medical conditions:

  • Eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.
